We create beautiful websites that are clean, intuitive and easy to use (and they get results - otherwise what's the point?)

We combine user experience design with visual design.

We give you a CMS, let you sell things (if you want), create your social networking strategy (twitter, facebook and all that), teach you SEO and do any custom stuff that only you want (we know how special you are).

  • Web projects in Development

It's been a busy old start to the year here at the windmill, so here's a little summary of what we're up to:

We won 2 major contracts with Nexus, Tyne and Wear's Passenger Transport Executive.  Winning contracts is always good, but to win 2 separate tenders for such a large client is fantastic and we're already well under way with the projects, more news on this one soon!

Our social media campaign and new website for bamboo engineering has started in earnest.  An announcement was made on the 4th Feb stating the team are moving into the World Touring Car Championship this season and our new Social Media Expert, Alexander Horre, managed the flood of requests for information via their Orange Bus designed website, twitter account and facebook fan page.  We're continuing our support of the team and both drivers throughout the season and have some exciting plans for the meeting in Portimao (Portugal) and Brands Hatch here in the UK, so we look forward to announcing those soon!

Lots of other stuff going on, we won the tender for the Center for E-Business website which goes live at the end of March, we're well under way in developing a new e-commerce platform for eaga plc.  Our relationship with Newcastle Science City continues with phase 2 of their website now underway, whilst we're developing a number of digital strategy documents for some very interesting new clients.

A couple of other interesting projects are a relationship mapper using the LinkedIn api, and a new project around DVD's which we're not allowed to talk about just yet :-)

Oh, and I've been selected to attend Digital Mission to SXSWi in Austin, Texas in March so I'm looking forward to that (and the music festival afterwards)!

  • Orange Bus named North East Digital Agency of the Year!

Wow, we love it when we're recognised for doing the stuff we love doing well and today we have been announced as North East Digital Agency of the Year by The Drum in their prestigious New Years Honours list. We're especially proud of this as it's not an award we entered, it's something the Drum award based on their overall view of the industry. This is what they had to say about us:

"Based in an eighteenth century windmill on the outskirts of Newcastle, the agency which promises to deliver “clever web stuff” did not disappoint in 2009, producing consistently excellent work for a wide range of clients as the company doubled in size. It created a website for French movie channel Cinemoi in just six weeks; invited racing fans to see live behind the scenes action from a British Touring Car race; and devised a digital strategy for Newcastle Science City after a rigorous tender process. The agency outlined its ambition in November when it appointed Chris Rhodes, vice president EMEA at Radialpoint and director of Aspen Adventures, as non-executive director as part of plans to reach £1m turnover this year."
