SFA is an executive agency of the Department for Education. It supports more than 1,000 colleges, private training providers and employers with £3.2 billion of funding each year. The SFA’s online material did not effectively combine depth of content with user-friendliness.
Orange Bus has proven expertise in user research design methodologies (including guerrilla research, 1:1 interviews, contextual studies, user journey mapping, persona design and usability testing). As a formidable presence in the UX community, Orange Bus will bring fresh perspective and a creative approach to any project they have.
Working collaboratively with the SFA, we built up the service with a user-centric approach - setting the scene with contextual enquiries and card sorting to define user needs and content requirements, followed by 1-2-1 usability and guerrilla testing which would allow us to iterate and build-out the service.
Together with SFA, Orange Bus assisted in creating a service which is driven by user needs, as well as being compliant with government design standards. Our work with SFA will help to ensure that citizens are further empowered to take charge of their careers.
