And what a journey it’s been! The quantity and quality of clients and the passion and talent of the team grew year on year, leading to acquisition by Capita in 2016. This has seen us grow significantly in terms of headcount, capabilities and profits, and has led to the latest opportunity, which will cement a bright future for our growing team.
Orange Bus is to become part of Capita Consulting, a new challenger business that will partner with clients to drive transformation through digitally enabled technology.
We’ll bid a final farewell to the Orange Bus brand in April 2020, as we’re repositioned as the North of England HQ for Capita Consulting. Our 130-strong Newcastle-based team will lead on major client contracts around experience design, innovation and digital transformation and James Hall, current CEO, will take on the role of Partner for Capita Consulting UK North, heading up the North of England and Scotland.
James will oversee an ambitious growth plan which will see the Newcastle-based team increase by 50% in the next 12 months, in addition to growing the teams in Edinburgh and Manchester:
“This is truly an historic moment for us. While it signals the end of the Orange Bus brand I am confident that we’ll bring our unique culture and approach to helping our clients thrive, to Capita Consulting. Together, the opportunities we have for growth and development are staggering. We look forward to taking a lead role in major transformation and innovation projects in a range of industry sectors, and to develop skills and work on projects that no other companies in our region can offer.”
By uniting two existing Capita companies and attracting new global talent to its senior team, the new consultancy will have offices in London, Newcastle, Manchester and Edinburgh, with 30 partner-level consultants, supported by 270 analytical and technical consultants. It is expected to have more than 450 consultants in total by the end of 2020.
